The Director
Jeremy Pietsch grew up in Hemet and Idyllwild. He attended Hemet High School and participated in the Jazz Band, Concert Band, and Marching Band. After finishing high school he moved to Northridge, where he attended Cal State University Northridge. At CSUN, Mr. Pietsch majored in jazz performance and music education. While at CSUN, he earned numerous awards and scholarships including the "University Scholar" scholarship, the Jazz Music Scholarship, and soloist recognition at the Reno Jazz Festival. Upon finishing his bachelors he attended Biola University where he earned his MA in Apologetics. Mr. Pietsch then went back to CSUN to complete his California Teaching Credential in music. Upon finishing his credential he was promptly hired at James Monroe High School in Los Angeles and taught jazz band, beginning band, and choir. While working at JMHS, he also worked in the music industry and recorded on movie sound tracks, music albums, and performed jazz gigs throughout the greater Los Angeles area. For the 2011-2012 school year, Mr. Pietsch taught Symphonic band, marching band, beginning and advanced choir, and keyboard at Chowchilla Union High School. In 2012, he started teaching at Tahquitz High School where he teaches symphonic band, jazz band, marching band, beginning band, and music appreciation.
