Stater Brothers Scrip
The THS Band Program is starting the Stater Brothers’ Scrip Fundraiser. This fundraiser is very simple, very practical, and can be very profitable. Scrip is essentially gift cards to Stater Brothers. If you purchase $250 of scrip, you will get $250 in gift cards to Stater Brothers. So there is no extra money coming out of your pocket.
How it works: We will be selling scrip cards on a monthly basis. At the beginning of the month you will purchase however much scrip you need for the month. I will take orders on either a Friday or a Monday and then disperse the Scrip cards Thursday. The orders can be made in $25 increments. When you get the gift card, you use it as cash at any Stater Brothers’ location.
How profitable is it? We keep 6% of all the sales. Now that may not appear like a lot, if your child sells $300 per month, which is not an unreasonable amount for a single family to use in a month, then your child can raise almost $200 every year. My goal is to have every child in the advanced band (50 students) to sell $300 of scrip each month. If we can reach this goal, after the course of a year we could make about $9,000. I believe this is a feasible goal for every student because every family buys groceries, which costs hundreds of dollars each month. I have encouraged each student to sell scrip each month to as many people as possible. But for this to be most successful, the parents must help because they are the ones who buy groceries and the ones who have friends and acquaintances who buy groceries. I suggest selling it to family, friends, and co-workers. It only takes each student to have six families purchase $50 each, which is very minimal for groceries.
Why it is important: 100% of all profits go directly to the students and the band program. The money helps pay for trips, supplies, and new instruments. If we all partake in this fundraiser, we can make it very successful. If you have any further questions, please contact me.

Band Buddies
Band Buddies are financial sponsors of the band. This fundraiser is a great opportunity for band students to raise a lot of money fast! My goal is that every student is able to get 1 Band Buddy each year!
How it works: Students go to businesses and individuals to get sponsors (I have found that the small businesses are more likely to give because they don't have all the "red tape" of corporate to get through). Each Band Buddy donates $100 the the THS Band. In return, we will present every band buddy with a plaque for their generosity. They will also be advertised in all of the THS Band concert programs. Below is the attached letter that can be distributed. When a student gets a Band Buddy, they are to keep the bottom portion of the first page, so we can document who donated the money and the business or individual keeps the top half of the first page and the second page for their tax purposes, since it is 100% a tax write off.
How profitable is it: Each Band Buddy donates $100. Then that money is divided as such: $60 goes to the students' account for their trip, $30 goes to the Band's general account, and $10 pays for the plaque.
